Welcome to the Palm Beach Synagogue

Rabbi Moshe and Rebbetzin Dinie Scheiner moved to Miami, Florida in 1994. Although Rabbi Scheiner had a Rabbinical degree, he began a career in the business world.

But then, in March 1994, he was invited by a family friend who lived in Palm Beach, Dr. Jeffrey Kashik, to help out a handful of people who wanted a more traditional service than the Island was offering at the time.

The group approached Temple Emanuel for permission to use some space downstairs for their services and programs. Rabbi Moshe and Rebbetzin Dinie would volunteer and assist with running what quickly evolved into Palm Beach Synagogue (PBS) - including Torah reading, classes, holiday celebrations, and, of course, weekly sermons, for which the Rabbi has become renowned internationally through his Daily Videos.

By the time the Jewish Holiday season of 1994 arrived in September, things had grown exponentially, and PBS needed to rent the Ballroom at the Palm Beach Hotel, where it remained until 1999. What followed was a series of purchases, expansions, and magnificent renovations:

1994 - A small group begins convening at a room rented from Temple Emanuel; as the group grows and forms into the "Palm Beach Synagogue," it moves into the Ballroom at the Palm Beach Hotel|

1999 - PBS purchases its first building on North Country Rd.

2002 - PBS purchases its second building on North County Rd.

2004 - PBS purchases its third building on North County Rd.

2010 - PBS undergoes a major renovation

2020 - PBS purchases Chez Jean Pierre restaurant next door

To date, Palm Beach Synagogue, from a handful of people, has grown to over 650 members with daily services, programs, classes, guest speaker series, Hebrew School, Maimonides High School program, Solomon Leadership Program, and Project Connect for special needs children.

As we celebrate our 30th year, on the shoulders of our tremendous blessing and success, we stand firmly in the present and anticipate soaring into continual growth in the future.
